![]() In 1986, the popularity of the restaurant had grown so much that the Rugani family decided to expand and open up the back part of the restaurant. Sandwiches, sides and desserts such as Cibo's own spumoni (ice cream) are also available every day. ![]() Wedding (spezzato) soup, bean (fagioli) soup and chicken noodle soup as well as salads, chicken, veal, ham and other dinners are also on the menu. From the beginning it was known for its homemade pastas including spaghetti, gnocchi, ravioli, cavatelli and cannelloni. When the restaurant first opened the entire dining area was located in the front lobby of the building. Herman Rugani, DDS, purchased the site of the former Mohawk Theatre to allow his mother, Rena Rugani, to showcase her Italian culinary skills. Finefrock Furniture Store, Brown-Hawk Hardware, McDonald-Wagstaff Service Station, Art Nims Chevrolet, Whitacre-Greer Fireproofing Company and many more in and near the little town of Waynesburg.Īlthough a busy time for the owners and staff of the restaurant, the four-day celebration brought many people together for good food, fellowship, fun and memories- something that Cibo's Restaurant owners have striven for from the beginning when it opened in the early 1970s. The establishments of that time included The Sandy Valley Press (a forerunner of The Press-News), Waynesburg Bank, Roy R. ![]() ![]() The drop, hanging in the stage area where once a movie screen was viewed, showed the names of Waynesburg businesses that were open in the early 1900s. Fragasse, with the help of others, was also able to display a huge, colorful drop that had been donated by the Waynesburg High School faculty in 1936 to the former school. ![]()
